SureStay Plus by Best Western Berkeley Springs

Three day visit just prior to Memorial Day weekend. Location is just amazing. Berkeley Springs is a quaint location. Amazing river and outdoor activities. This hotel, although in a great location, was just slightly above average. My bathroom was not entirely clean when checking in. Oh, and what’s up with vacuuming the room next to me at 0830 in the morning?!? The shampoo was the smallest dosage container that I’ve ever seen . Over all, the stay was nice and the rate was very good.

Initially the building gives you an older motel feel. But it has been well cared for and updated. Everything was clean inside and out of the room. The cost was very reasonable. Complimentary breakfast was more than ample. The staff was always friendly and happy to assist or answer questions.

Not a fancy place but excellent value. Our room was much larger than expected and very clean. The staff, especially Mary, were welcoming and friendly. Complimentary breakfast. Only place that agreed to have us for one night, which we really appreciate.

Very sweet and kind desk clerks! Excellent breakfast, made even a few minutes before 7 a.m.! A restaurant in the parking lot, delicious! But do not get a room if anyone is above you. We were in room 124. The hotel must have older wood flooring and the people above us (225?) walked, stomped and rolled around from 10:30 pm thru 1 a.m., again at 3 am and finally, when we needed to wake up at 6 a.m. they were finally STILL! Squeaking, floors, a squeaky queen bed (so we only use one of them). The room was otherwise comfortable, clean and a nice bathroom though the toilet was super low. Do yourself a favor and get the highest level room, be cognizant of others below you and you’ll have a peaceful sleep. This was our last stop between Delaware and home to Kentucky. Beautiful town and was having their Apple Butter Festival the next day!

I read mixed reviews before my trip. More good than bad. Seldom will I give 5 stars. Very few are perfect. The place is clean & comfy. A little noisy sometimes. Easy to find. The breakfast was hot. Consisted of scrambled eggs, cheese omelets, sausage links, biscuits & gravy. All yummy! Thanks to the ladies there! There was juices, coffees, cereal, fruit, and more. Ill definitely recommend to give it a try, if you're in the area of Berkley Springs, West Va. Next door is restaurant with steaks, burgers,etc. Open til 9pm on Saturday night. If you go and like cats, take along some treats. Several cats, of all colors, take residence by the restaurant. One came to visit me in smoking area(behind hotel) and got all the goodies I had with me.

My family has stayed at this hotel multiple times, the staff is always friendly throughout the stay and the hotel is dog friendly, (my yorkie thought it was a good time). They do also serve breakfast (it's more than just cereal and yogurt, they serve waffles, eggs, sausage, sausage gravy and biscuits, along with the typical cereal and yogurt). [Sorry not sorry, I'm a foodie and I wake up hungry for a decent breakfast. lol]. My only real concern is finding the hotel, there is a billboard for it and another big sign on the highway but driving up the hill there's one teeny tiny sign that says "hotel". And without using bifocals that I had to borrow I'd consider driving right by it. Side bar: Angus and Ale restaurant is within walking distance from the hotel, its a family friendly place. I do suggest if you have a larger party, consider making reservations for a weekend meal because seats do fill up fast.

For the budget class of Best Western Plus 5 stars all the way! We booked this after having a terrible experience at a resort down the road. This room was much nicer than the resort, large, clean and comfortable. The shower head felt like the gentle rain showers at the higher end hotels. The people here were very friendly and helpful and made you feel at home! Wonderful bang for your buck.
